Revision for Original Media

Hello, everyone -

Because of emails received during the past few days, the following will be revised for original media submissions:
  1. Projects of any length may be submitted.
  2. In the event that there are several long-form (30+ minutes) and short-form (up to 30 minutes) submissions, two categories will be constructed for review so that these two styles are not reviewed against one another.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Keep the submissions coming!

Cheers! Adam Tyma

Submissions for original visual media are now being accepted

Hello everyone!

The Media Studies Interest Group is excited to accept original movies, documentaries, or mediated artistic works for the CSCA 2011 Annual Conference in Milwaukee. If you intend to submit your original work, the following will be needed in your submission to CSCAMSIG@Gmail.Com:

  1. An original documentary, movie, or other mediated artistic work no more than 15 minutes in length and created in with the spirit and integrity of CSCA in mind (please see www.csca-net.org for conference and organization information).
  2. A 150-200 word abstract explaining the piece (submitted as either .PDF or .Doc format).
  3. A link to a publicly accessible file for the project to be viewed online (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo). To aid in the review process, DVDs or other hard media will not be accepted for submission or review.
  4. Submissions must be received by 10/6/2010.
In the event that there are four or fewer submissions, all submitted works may be shown at a showcase during the CSCA 2011 Conference. The number of submissions will determine whether or not a competitive jury or review will be held.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Adam Tyma, MSIG program planner, at CSCAMSIG@GMail.com. Again, thank you for your interest in submitting to CSCA MSIG 2011!

All the best -
